As first time homebuyers we were super nervous about buying a home on Oahu given everything that we had heard about the competitive market. When we met Jocko through some friends he was friendly and knowledgable but also confident that he would be able to get us into a great home within our budget. From the beginning he educated us about the process, worked with us to develop a realistic wish list and made sure that we didn't miss any home that might meet our needs. After a couple of weeks there was one place that really jumped out at us and we told him we would swing by the open house on our own. I had heard from friends that agents usually send their clients to open houses but when we told him we would go Jocko said he wanted to join us which we thought was cool. He showed up before us and had clearly built some rapport with the seller's agent by the time we arrived. Once we took a look around he introduced us to the seller's agent as well and we had a friendly conversation and found out a little more about the seller. The open house was a zoo, there were literally 50 or more other people through in the short time that we were there. We loved the place but were even more nervous about getting it because a lot of people seemed interested. When it was time to write an offer Jocko was direct about what we would need to do to have a chance at winning without making us feel pressured. It turned out there were a total of 12 other offers so we were kind of freaking out, but we put our best foot forward and didn't stretch the budget beyond our comfort zone. Two days later we were pretty shocked to find out that we had won and we were pumped! Next came the stressful part of home inspections, locking in our loan etc. and while there were some challenges along the way Jocko was there for us through every step of the process and communicated regularly about what to expect next. Overall we made it to the finish line and now we couldn't be happier in our new home. We would highly recommend his services to anyone and look forward to working with Jocko next time!
